Solis is an automatic service station on the Albula line. Due to local conditions (station lies in a curve) the end of the train is hard to see for the engine driver of halting trains. So it's difficult to determine wether the train has completely cleared the entry switch. For this reason a brake signal is switched an as soon as the entry switch is cleared.
As of May 2002 Solis is the only station where the brake signal is used.
