Special exit signal

This is the layout of the north part of the station of Montreux. The exit signal »16F« showing ''stop'' allows trains passing on track 2. If it shows a distant signal or proceed aspect the whole length of the platform on track 1 can be used.

Note: the distant signal below the exit signal »16B« announces the entry signal of the next station (which is Clarens).

Additional entry signal

Combined signals instead of entry distant signals are sometimes used if there are loading tracks shortly outside the station. In the example below shunting movements from the station to the loading track are covered by the signal »P/D*«.
