Trapezoid board (Trapeztafel) § 36 (11)
On stations without entry signals (on secondary lines) such boards are provided instead. Whether or not a train has to stop at this board is designated in the service timetable or the engineer is given an order (written or via radio). The permission to move on can be given by the counter train (whistling long - short - long), by light signal (see below) or by a verbal order (via radio).

Permission to enter the station (light flashing long - short - long).
Note: Since I never saw this signal in reality I'm not shure if the flashing speed is correct.

Cross board (Kreuztafel) § 36 (17)
On secondary lines distant signals can be replaced by these boards. Trapezoid boards are also announced by cross boards.

Located at »braking distance« from the stop.

Station tracks without exit or protection signal are at least equipped with this board. It shows the outmost limit where a train entering the station has to stop.

Shows where halting passenger trains have to stop. It is only valid for passenger trains.

This sign is attached to the station building and indicates that there is currently no local staff in duty.

Marks entry signals that are out of use due to a vacant station (stations with »Dienstruhe«). It is simalar to to the invalidation board.
