These boards show the maximum local speed. Maximum speed in km/h = number x 10.

the old Anfangssignal simply showed where the speed restriction started, the new one shows the allowed speed once again.

This board is in general mounted on the backside of the Anfangssignal valid for the counter direction and therefore situated on the lefthand side of the track (in the direction of motion).

If there is a turnout between the announcment and the start signal and the speed restriction applies only to one branch an additional arrow indicates which branch the speed restriction is intended for.
